...wherein you shall find
SELECTIONS FROM H.P. LOVECRAFT'S BRIEF TENURE AS A WHITMAN'S SAMPLER COPYWRITER

Including the following:

Chocolate Cherry Cordial

You must not think me mad when I tell you what I found below the thin shell of chocolate used to disguise this bonbon's true face. Yes! Hidden beneath its rich exterior is a hideously moist cherry cordial! What deranged architect could have engineered this non-Euclidean aberration? I dare not speculate.

I was particularly amused by the phrase "hideously moist", and now I shall endeavour to use it in conversation as much as possible.

There is a huge spiderweb just outside my kitchen window.

I have a ton of stuff to do tonight. I need to clean up my office to make room for two sculptures, both of them huge, that I need to finish. I have to lock them up when I leave the house because Panda's really good about not chewing on things, but she does get the occasional shoe, and I don't want to risk it.
...and I need to draw more stuff for the website-in-progress.

This weekend I am sending the finished ms to a couple of people to read. I've been doing a tentative outline for the next one. It's still a bit fragmentary. It's fun though, I like doing the outline. It's sort of like playing connect the dots. And I need to finish a short sstory I did last week - well, it's finished except I want to sort of flesh out the characters a little more. And then I need to write character descriptions to accompany artwork on the site.

I've started thinking about Halloween already.

Watch that fireplace

I had a dream that the ceiling above my fireplace cracked and tropical vines were growing down over the bricks. Water started pouring down from the cracks in the bricks. Tiny brightly colored frogs were jumping around in the vines.
The vines started climbing up my legs and I kept leaning farther into the fireplace. The back of it opened up and there was some kind of strange village on the other side. All the houses were actually the insides of other fireplaces, and they were perched on rocky cliffs above a huge waterfall.

It was a tropical Narnian fireplace. No idea what inspired that dream but it was interesting.
